You recently sent a letter to Dr. Jean Keller, Dean of the College of Education at the University of North Texas, to inquire if our candidates for teaching certification receive instruction in the use of corporal punishment. Dr. Keller has asked me to respond.

Yes, our students do receive instruction in the use of corporal punishment. This issue is addressed in at least two courses EDEE 3310 Child Growth and Development and EDEE 3320 Elementary Curriculum.
