Paul Woodruff, 41, of Brambles Farm, Middlesbrough, denies two charges of indecent assault and one of male rape, allegedly committed against the same boy in the mid 1990s.

The jury at Teesside Crown Court has heard how Woodruff admitted a further offence of indecent assault against the same boy.

The court was told how Woodruff befriended the boy, who cannot be identified, but is then said to have developed a "sexual interest" in the youngster.

It is claimed Woodruff insisted on the boy wearing shorts, showed him child pornography and sent the youngster a pornographic e-mail.

When Woodruff was arrested following a complaint by the victim, police found computer images, one showing Woodruff spanking the boy across his knee.

When questioned by police, Woodruff admitted befriending the boy, who is now a young adult, but denied any sexual impropriety.

The trial continues.
