Dad Accused of Tying up Daughter at School

(Clermont, Florida)-- Dad accused of tying up his teenage daughter in a school office after she was suspended from her high school in central Florida.

Richard Zaccardo is charged with aggravated child abuse, and is now out on bond. Police say he was called to South Lake High in Clermont last Thursday.

The school's dean says Zaccardo became abusive to the girl in his office. Witnesses say he tied up the girl with a belt and plastic ties that are used by police officers in place of handcuffs.

Zaccardo reportedly told the dean he was afraid his daughter would run away. A sheriff's deputy was sent to the father's home, and the father admitted to using the restraints.
