For the January killing of Ahmad King, a jury in Alma, Georgia, has convicted King of murder and sentenced her to life in prison.
King testified that she lost control while spanking her adopted son. When she realized he was dead, she panicked. She then hid his body in the woods and drove to a Wal-Mart 40 miles away, where she said Ahmad had been taken from her car when she went to get a shopping cart.
An autopsy revealed that the boy had been hit more than 50 times with a two-foot pipe and a belt buckle.
