Lexington County, SC (WLTX) - A Lexington County man is facing charges after deputies say he gave teenage boys tobacco in exchange for letting him spank them.

Terrence Bryant

Officers say Terrence Everett Bryant, 50, has been charged with three counts of committing a lewd act upon a child under the age of 16.

According to deputies, the father of a 12-year-old boy found out that his son got a pack of Newport cigarettes from Bryant. Detectives say they determined that the man gave the boy cigarettes on five occasions over a two month period, in exchange for the boy letting Bryant spank him with his clothes on.

Deputies say Bryant also gave two 15-year-old boys smokeless tobacco in exchange for spanking them with their clothes on.

Officers say the crimes took place in the parking lot of a Lexington convenience store where Bryant worked as a cashier. Investigators say Bryant kept the cigarettes and smokeless tobacco stored in the glove compartment of his 2002 pickup truck. Officers say Bryant purchased the tobacco products that he provided to the three boys.

Deputies ask anyone with information about additional instances in which Bryant interacted inappropriately with children to contact the Lexington County Sheriff's Department at (803) 785-8230 or CrimeStoppers at 1-888-CRIME-SC.
