TIME FOR CHANGE!We believe that now is the time for our education policymakers to embrace 21st Century standards. Otherwise, they will surely and deservedly go down in history as having been obstacles to progress.
Two key facts to consider: 1 - The U.S. stands alone among developed democracies in that it still allows punishment of schoolchildren in some states by means of their being beaten with wooden boards. 2 - It's impossible to identify one major public health agency or teacher-training program that endorses the use of corporal punishment.
Please read two position statements opposing corporal punishment:

Dear _____________:
As a concerned citizen, I urge you to re-introduce "Ending Corporal Punishment in Schools Act." When passed into law, it will raise the safety of schoolchildren in the U.S. and territiories to an acceptable standard in keeping with the rest of the developed world. Please act now.
